In plain words
- There are no accounts. Tenna does not know who you are.
- There are no ads, analytics or crash-report services in the app.
- Your playlist logins and your library are stored only on your device.
- The app talks to your own provider, to a public sports scoreboard for scores, and to a speed-test server only when you run the speed test.
1. Who we are and what this covers
Tenna IPTV Player ("Tenna", "we", "us") is a media player for playlists that you supply. This policy covers the Tenna apps (Windows and macOS today; Android and iOS when they are released) and this website. Tenna is a player only: it provides no channels or content, and it has no servers that hold your information.
2. What stays on your device
To work, Tenna keeps the following in its own private storage on your device. We never receive it.
- Your playlists: the server address, username and password of an Xtream Codes account, or the address of an M3U playlist, and the names you gave them.
- A saved copy of your library (the lists of channels, movies and series your provider sent), so the app opens quickly.
- Your activity in the app: favourites, favourite categories, watch history and where you stopped, profiles (including a Kids profile and its PIN), hidden and merged categories, and what Tenna learned about where series intros end.
- Your settings: player choices, library-refresh schedule, guide time-shift, sports leagues and followed teams, notification choices, and on a computer the size and position of the window.
- Reminders and schedules you create, and on phones and tablets the files you download or record.
Tenna does not add encryption of its own on top of your device's. Use a screen lock and disk encryption, and keep your playlist logins private.
3. What the app sends over the internet, and to whom
The app makes these kinds of connections, and no others:
| Who | Why | What they see |
|---|---|---|
| Your playlist provider (the server you add) | To sign in, load your channel lists and guide, and play streams | Your login for that account, the requests the app makes, and your IP address. Their privacy policy applies. We do not run or control them. |
| Picture servers named in your playlist (usually your provider or an image host it uses) | To show posters, logos and artwork | Ordinary web requests, including your IP address |
| ESPN's public scoreboard (site.api.espn.com) | Live scores, fixtures and team logos for the sports features | Which league and day are asked for, and your IP address. No login or personal details. |
| Cloudflare's speed test (speed.cloudflare.com) | Only when you press Start test in Settings | A download of test data (about 45 MB) and your IP address |
| GitHub | Only when you download the app from the releases page or follow a link to our code | Whatever GitHub records under its own policy. The app itself does not contact GitHub. |
Tenna does not send your logins, library, history or settings to us or to anyone else, and it contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services.
4. Permissions
- Notifications: reminders for matches and recordings you chose. They are scheduled on your device; there is no push server.
- Local network (iPhone and iPad): to reach streams on your home network and to send the picture to an AirPlay device.
- Clipboard: while the add-playlist form is open, the app can read what you last copied once, to offer to fill in a login you copied from a message. The text is used on your device only and is not stored or sent.
- Playing in the background and Picture-in-Picture: so a stream can keep playing in a small window.
- On a computer: a small converter runs on your own machine, reachable only from that machine (127.0.0.1) with a secret token. It exists to convert audio and read subtitles, and sends nothing anywhere itself.
5. This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, social-media widgets or fonts and scripts from other sites. The download page looks at your browser's description of itself to highlight the right download for your computer; that stays in your browser and is not sent anywhere. The site is hosted by a third party (such as GitHub Pages), which may keep ordinary server logs, including IP addresses, under its own policy.
6. Sharing your data
We do not sell, rent or share your data, because we do not have it. Where your device talks to your provider or to the services in section 3, that is a direct connection between your device and them.
7. Children
Tenna is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone. The Kids profile is a convenience that hides adult-named categories on your device and asks for a PIN to leave it. The PIN is a parental lock on that device, not strong security.
8. Your choices and rights
- Remove a playlist in Settings, Playlists, then choose the playlist and Delete. This removes its saved login and library from the app.
- Clear saved libraries, recordings and downloads in Settings, Storage.
- Remove everything by uninstalling the app. On a computer you can also delete its data folder:
%APPDATA%\Tenna IPTV Playeron Windows, or~/Library/Application Support/Tenna IPTV Playeron a Mac.
Laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to see, correct and delete personal data a company holds about you. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to give, fix or erase. If you contact us, for example by opening an issue on GitHub (which is public), we use what you write only to answer you.
9. Security
Your data lives on your device, so its security depends on your device. Do not post playlist logins in public places, including problem reports.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how Tenna handles data, we will update this page and its date, and say so in the release notes. Using Tenna after a change means you accept the updated policy.
